Paris Roofs captures the dream-like state of one’s memory and dreams of Paris. Blurry photographs are deliberately divided, printed on glossy paper and then stitched together. Focused photographs are print on thin bamboo paper, which is burned, layered slightly out of sync, and quilted on top of the glossy image. Just like with memories and dreams, parts of the focused image are missing and parts of the blurry image are replaced with embroidery to cause knowing confusion. The layers and stitching are used to intentionally render the city into a strange and mysterious dreamscape.
